Indonesian charged with killing boss

ALOR STAR: AN Indonesian maid was charged at the magistrate's court here yesterday with murdering her 75-year-old employer two weeks ago.
Dedek Lena, 40, from Batam, is alleged to have killed Che Siah Wan Nik at the latter's house at B26, Taman Serindik, Jalan Langgar here, at 11.25am on June 24.
The accused faces the mandatory death sentence under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
She appeared calm and nodded her head when the charge was read to her before magistrate Umzarul An Nur Umar.
No plea was recorded.
Umzarul later fixed Oct 6 for re-mention pending chemist reports.
Deputy public prosecutor Aisyaf Falina Abdullah prosecuted while Dedek was unrepresented.
A post-mortem revealed that the victim was stabbed to death with a pair of scissors.
During the incident, the victim was at home with her husband and two granddaughters but they were not harmed.
It was reported that Dedek was arrested at the house while trying to flee with a bag containing RM4,000, six gold bracelets and a necklace she had stolen from the family.
